UTHM STC Astronomy Untuk Semua

Hello stargazers!

On 16 April 2021, I had the honour to share my knowledge in Astronomy as non-STEM background to Malaysians hosted by Science and Technology Club of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn. It took me a week to plan out for the slides but sharing knowledge is something I love to do, so I totally enjoyed every moment.

Astronomy is a beautiful field of knowledge that has inspired humanity for centuries and everyone has every right to enjoy astronomy, even for the non-STEM background individuals. To our ancestors, astronomy is the knowledge for them to survive and became an important part of their lives as the it is used to determine time and directions. As we modernized, we became more distant with the knowledge as we rely heavily on the technology. Astronomy fascinates kids and primary school students but as they grow up, they lose touch on the wonders of the celestials above especially when they pursue their studies on different paths. In Malaysia, the closest thing you can get to Astronomy is when you're studying physics.

That's why I'm here, to give a clear picture on how people can pursue their passion in Astronomy in variety of ways, especially in creative aspects such as making space arts, writing astronomical poems, produce films related to Astronomy and so on. Follow this link to watch the webinar.
